BAREPOD
Zero-config. Local-first. Privacy-first.

BarePod is a podcast and radio app built around one rule: your data stays on your device. There is no BarePod account, no BarePod server, and no BarePod-run backend of any kind. This policy is short because there isn't much to disclose but here's exactly what happens when you use the app.
Your subscriptions, your queue, your listening history, your settings is saved locally on your device using a local database. None of it is transmitted to us, because there is no "us" to transmit it to. We have no servers and no way to see your data, your usage, or your device.
Since BarePod has no backend of its own, some things it does necessarily involve talking directly to other services on the open internet, the same way any podcast or radio app would. Specifically:
None of these services are BarePod's. They're independent, publicly available directories and hosts that any podcast or radio app relies on to function. We don't control what they log on their end, but we send them nothing beyond the search text or playback request needed in the moment, and we attach no account or identity to any of it.
There's no account to close and no request to make to us to "delete your data," because we never had a copy of it in the first place.
BarePod is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age for the same reason as everything else in this policy: it doesn't collect information at all.
If anything about how BarePod handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it.

We read every message. BarePod is built by a single developer, so response times may vary, but nothing sent here goes unread.
